Shiloh United Methodist Church has begun its “Lunch and Learn” monthly programs. This month they will offer “Resources for Family History Research.” The luncheon will be Tuesday April 9, noon to 1 pm. Participants will be provided information on how to use the resources at the SC State Archives. This will be held at the church’s Fellowship Hall at 1000 Springhill Road. The cost is $10. Last week, members of the Gilbert-Summit Senior Center enjoyed a Saint Patrick’s Day party. The members dressed up in green and enjoyed snacks and participating in a variety of games.

The senior crafters have been busy making Easter and Mother’s Day items to give to Meals on Wheels participants. Other activities this month included shopping, nutrition education, learning to knit on a loom, bowling, and entertainment by Jeff Long. If you are age 60 or above and would like to become a member, call 892-5745.

Gilbert High School wants to partner with our community for its Sophomore Passages. This event will be held April 4-5. The school wants to provide the students with a panel that can give feedback to support their learning at GHS and their future success. For information, or to sign up for the panel, call GHS at 821-1900.

Gilbert Middle School will present Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr. April 11 and 12 at 7 pm in the GMS Little Theater. The play features updated songs from Disney’s animated picture and is a fast-paced take on the classic story. Tickets are $3 for students, $5 for adults, and free for children 5 and under with a reserved seat. Tickets must be reserved in advance by calling 821-1727 or visiting the box office at the GMS Little Theater.

Congratulations to Lisa Keisler, who received the Chartered Organizational Representative of the year for IWC Chinquapin District, Troop and Pack 60.

Eight Arrow of Light scouts crossed over and became Troop 60 Scouts. Pack 60 Scouts had a spaghetti supper at their monthly meeting this week. The Webelos provided games for the Scouts and their siblings to play. Pack 60 Scouts are almost finished with the cars they will race in the Pinewood Derby April 6 at Gilbert Primary School.

Pack 60 Scouts are selling Camp Cards as a fundraiser. The $10 Camp Cards have discounts for businesses around the area. Contact Marc Sightler at 803-307-7391 for purchases and information.

Beulah United Methodist Church will have a Chicken Bog fundraiser April 6, 3 to 7 pm. Cost for adults is $9 and $6 for children. For information call 892-2842.
