The Lexington County Blowfish announced the return of head coach KC Brown for the 2024 season in a Sept. 19 press release.
Brown helped lead the Blowfish to a Petitt Cup championship in his fist season as the team’s head coach. The Blowfish used a late season winning streak to propel them to a playoff birth. After losing the first game of the playoffs to the Forest City Owls, the Blowfish won two straight in dominant fashion to advance to the Petitt Cup championship series where they defeated the Wilmington Sharks 2-1. It’s the franchise’s first championship since their relocation to Lexington County.
“We are thrilled to have KC return for another season. He has shown the ability to recruit and lead a championship team, but more importantly, quality young men who really serve as role models in our community,” Blowfish general manager Tony Baldwin stated in a press release.
Brown is currently in Milledgeville, Ga where he is an assistant coach for the Georgia College and State University baseball team.
“I can’t thank the Blowfish ownership, front office and fans enough for their full support in returning for another great summer. We will build upon the strong foundation laid the last couple of years and continue to strive to make Lexington County the best organization possible,” Brown said in the release.
