Lexington County man arrested after 3 dogs found dead in home

Posted

Three dogs were found deceased and another two in poor condition inside a Lexington County home, which led to the arrest of 40-year-old Robert John Jachim.
Lexington County Animal Services charged Jachim with five counts of ill-treatment of animals and arrested him on July 16, according to a release from the county.
The five dogs were without food or water, and four of them were left inside wire crates. Two of the dogs in crates were found dead, and a smaller dog was discovered dead inside a bedroom of the Corley Street residence.
"Jachim told investigators he left the property July 2 and didn’t return," read the release. "Jachim surrendered the two dogs that were found alive. They have been transferred to a rescue shelter for care. "
He is currently in the Lexington County Detention Center and was given a bond of $5,000 per count.
