Lexington man arrested on criminal sexual conduct with a minor charges

A Lexington man is charged with having sex with a minor from Sumter and shooting at the victim's father, said the Sumter County Sheriff's Department.
Steven Dwayne Bethea, 29, of Quiet Grove Drive, is charged with having sex with the girl between on and between Oct. 1 and Oct. 14 and again on Nov. 28 while on Mayrant Road, deputies said.
He was arrested on Nov. 28.
Bethea told the minor to leave her home without her parent's permission.
According to warrants, when the victim's father found Bethea with his daughter, Betha shot at him.
Deputies said Bethea is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, criminal sexual conduct with a minor, victim 11 to 14 years of age, 2nd degree — 2 counts and attempted murder.
