Posted

A Lexington man has been arrested on four charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor.

The state Attorney General’s Office announced the arrest of Patrick Ryan Greer, 40, who is charged with three counts of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor (a felony offense punishable by up to 20 years in prison on each count) and one count of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor (a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years in prison).

"Investigators state Greer manufactured and distributed files of child sexual abuse material," a release notes.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department investigators with the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force made the arrest. The state Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case.

Greer was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center following his arrest, according to the jail’s website.
