Stella Hendrick recently turned 90 years young. Last Sunday she was treated to a drop-in birthday party. Miss Stella is a member of the Gilbert-Summit Senior Center. She is an awesome artist and also one of the GSSC crafters who create crafts throughout the year for Meals on Wheels. Miss Stella was greeted by many members of the GSSC, friends, and her family at the drop-in. A large birthday card for her was available for everyone to sign. She had a beautiful blue and white birthday cake and snacks for everyone to enjoy. Happy Birthday, Miss Stella, we wish you many more.

Gilbert artist Candace Thibeault tells us two local artists, Devon Jeremy and Steven White, will have their work on display during February. Steven White creates black and white acrylic, pop-culture icon portraits. His work will be displayed at Nicky’s Pizzeria in Lexington. Devon Jeremy creates botanical and nature paintings. His work will be displayed at the Old Mill Brew Pub in Lexington.

Candace Thibeault will be the featured visual artist for the Southern Exposure Concert February 22. She will be displaying a collection of works both inspired and specifically chosen in collaboration with the Southern Exposure event. This will feature the Chamber competition finalists at the USC School of Music Recital Hall. Her work will also be on display in the School of Music Library at USC from Feb. 18 through March 9. Candace will be on hand prior to the concert to answer any questions about her exhibit. For more information, visit www.candacethibeault.com .
