Masks mandated on buses

Rule began Monday

Posted

Parents will have to get the face masks out again.

State Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman has announced that students and drivers must wear face masks on school buses starting last Monday.

Lexington County’s 5 school disricts were given no choice as covid cases continue to rise.

Districts must enforce the mask mandate for all students and staff on state owned and operated school buses.

If students have none, the drivers should have supplies to offer them masks, Spearman said.

She said no students should be denied transportation for having no masks.
