Man arrested for sex crimes against children

Officers with the South Congaree Police Department have arrested Michael Dyer, 48, of South Congaree, on charges of sexual conduct with a minor.

According to South Congaree Police Chief Josh Shumpert, their department’s investigation revealed that Dyer had committed sexual offenses against a child.

Shumpert said Dyer has been charged with 5 counts of criminal sexual conduct 1st degree with a minor under 11 years of age.

He also has been charged with 5 counts of disseminating obscene material to a minor as well as several other offenses related to this case.

Dyer was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center last Friday while waiting to face a judge for a bond hearing.

Police search for deadly shooting suspect

Lexington County deputies are asking for the public’s help as they work to find a Gaston man accused of shooting a man to death at a party June 25.

Keyshaun Alfred Muller, 19, is charged with murder, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.

Muller is accused of shooting and killing Trayon Newhouse after they argued in front of a house on Minolta Drive, according to Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon.

Detectives said Newhouse was not armed nor did he provoke Muller before the shooting, which also injured a child.
