What a shame! There are two vacancies to be filled on the Pelion Town Council and no one filed for these seats. Now voting will be by write-in and the two people with the most write-ins will win, providing they are willing to take the position and they live in the town limits.

Pelion High will hold college application day Sept. 13. Faculty and underclassmen pictures will be Sept. 20 beginning at 8 am.

Pelion JV/V volleyball will play at Bamberg-Ehrhardt Sept. 12 at 5:30 pm. Varsity football plays at Saluda Sept. 13 at 7:30 pm. Sept. 14 is an all-day JV VB jam beginning at 8 am.

Girls varsity tennis plays at Saluda Sept. 17 at 5 pm. JV/V volleyball plays at Edisto Sept. 17 at 5 pm. Girls tennis plays Barnwell Sept. 18 at 5 pm. JV/V volleyball plays at Swansea Sept. 19 at 5 pm.

Pelion Library will

host technology training on Sept. 18 at 10:30 am. and registration is required. Preschool story time is Sept. 18 at 11 a.m for ages 1-5 years. Yarn Art will be Sept. 14 at 10 am for all ages. Books and Beyond meets Sept. 17 at 3 pm featuring string art. This event is for grades K-5. Spine Crackers Book Club meets on Sept. 18 at 3 pm for ages 18 and up. This month the book is “Housewife Assassin Handbook” by Josie Brown.

Pelion Senior Center will travel to Beulah on Sept. 12. Daily activities include socializing, bingo and crafts, exercise, and games and puzzles. Lunch is served from 12 noon to 1 pm.
