One dead in Lexington shooting Sunday

Lexington police are investinging a deadly shooting Sunday.

Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green said there was a deadly shooting in the 100 block of Freedom Drive.

At approximately 5:25 pm on June 27 officers were dispatched to a shooting.

Police found a man who had been shot to death.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the victim as Parrish Scott Phillips, 49, of Lexington. He was pronounced dead on the scene from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Chief Green reassures the public that there is no danger to the community.
