Pelion’s new Resident Deputy is Steven Yancey. Welcome him when you see him around town!

A very big thank you to Golden State Foods for providing book bags and supplies to our entire First Grade student population!

Forts Pond Elementary School had a wonderful first day back, as students were very excited to start a new year. The school has several new staff members that were welcomed into the school and the Pelion community. Teachers and administration attended many workshops and symposiums this summer to prepare for the new school year. Please mark your calendars for September 17 for the Red Cross Blood Drive. If you would like to donate, please call 821-2552, Parent Liaison to schedule a time.

There will be no school on September 3.

Pelion Panthers play River bluff August 31 at 7:30 p.m. Girls Tennis plays White Knoll on September 4 at 4:30 p.m. JV/V volleyball plays at Batesburg Leesville at 5:30 p.m. September 5 is a Cross Country meet at Chapin at 5 p.m. September 6 the Girls Tennis plays at Saluda at 5 p.m.; JV/V volleyball plays Edisto at 5 p.m. and JV football at Saluda at 6 p.m.

Pelion Library will host Yarn Art September 8 at 10 a.m. for ages 13 and up. This event is for beginner and advanced crafters.

Pelion Senior Center will host a Summers End farewell August 31.
