Photos: Gamecock Central holds football kickoff party in Cayce
University of South Carolina sports website Gamecock Central held its kickoff party for the third season of the Shane Beamer era at Steel Hands Brewing in Cayce Aug. 19. The day featured appearances from Gamecock football players and coach Beamer, along with music from USC graduate and Nashville songwriter Patrick Davis and His Midnight Choir and Gamecock-related giveaways. The event served as a time for fans to get revved up for the coming football season, which kicks off with a neutral-site matchup with the University of North Carolina Sept. 2 in Charlotte. Steel Hands recently launched Sandstorm Game Day Lager, from which a portion of sales go to attracting student-athletes to South Carolina through name, image and likeness opportunities.
