Photos: Pelion Peanut Party boiled and paraded again

The Pelion Peanut Party was back for another year Nov. 3 and 4, boiling up a slew of peanuts to fuel a variety of festive attractions. The festival featured a craft show, parade, car show, military exhibits, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich eating contest, amusement rides and more. There was also a variety of live entertainment and a closing fireworks display on Saturday night. The peanuts are prepared by the Pelion Ruritans, who use a secret recipe and continue the tradition of boiling up peanuts intribute to the area that has been producing and harvesting the legumes for years.
