The annual Pelion Peanut Party was back in action Nov. 4 and 5, doing so with beautiful weather. The autumn event in the small Lexington County town finds locals gathering to boil a bunch of peanuts, with the Pelion Ruritan Club maintaining the tradition and cooking the legumes with a secret recipe. The two-day festival also featured amusement rides, a car show, parade crafters and vendors, an art exhibit from Pelion schools, karaoke and more. Rep. Joe Wilson was on hand to eat some peanuts, and Pelion High School’s Ms. Panther for 2022 joined him in the parade.
