A touring food festival that recently began making its way across the Carolinas made its first stop in Lexington County last weekend. The Foodees Food and Culture Festival stopped at the Barnyard Flea Market on U.S. Highway 1, featuring more than 25 food trucks, along with artisans and crafters. The food options spanned various cultures, with options for those who like spicy food, barbecue, chicken, gyros, boiled peanuts and more. The food trucks and vendors that touched down at the flea market June 23-25 joined the regular vendors that frequent the local hallmark. Foodees began hosting festivals earlier this year and has thus far visited Aiken, Easley and Lake Norman, N.C., and is set to return to the Tar Heel State next month with an event in Waynesville.
