Players, coaches named for All-Star Game

2019 TOUCHSTONE COOPERATIVES BOWL

A pair of Chronicle Country’s top quarterbacks are among 14 Chronicle Country seniors who are headed to Myrtle Beach for the Touchstone Energy Bowl.

The players and 5 coaches from the area will take part at the noon Dec. 14 event at Doug Shaw Stadium. At halftime of the North-South game, the winner of the “Mr. South Carolina Football” Award will be announced.

Dutch Fork wide receiver Jalin Hyatt is 1 of the 7 finalists for the award. Former Silver Foxes’ running back Matthew Colburn and Lexington wide receiver Shaq Roland are past winners.

Suiting up for the South team are quarterback Tyler Olenchuk and offensive linemen Ta’Chawn Brooks, both of defending 3-time Class 5A champion Dutch Fork, defensive tackle Garrett Huyck and offensive lineman Josh Taylor (both of Chapin), offensive linemen Walker Anderson (Lexington) and Tradd Castles (Brookland-Cayce), place-kicker Luis Orellana (White Knoll), tight end Jacob Lucas (Pelion), running back Nanders Lawrence (Airport) and wide receivers Michael Jones (Swansea) and Alec Holt (Gilbert).

Johnsonville head coach Ken Cribb will lead the South team. His coaching staff is promiment with Lexington County head coaches, including Perry Wool-bright (Lexington), Dann Holland (Pelion) and Rusty Charpia (Brookland-Cayce) and assistant coaches Mark Cagle (Gilbert) and Scott Stogner (Chapin).

Competing for the North team are Gray Collegiate Academy teammates quarterback Hunter Helms and wide receiver Omarion Dollison and wide receiver Ke’Shoun Williams (Batesburg-Leesville). Spartanburg head coach Chris Miller will lead the North team.

“We’re really excited about the players selected this year,” said Keith Richardson, co-coordinator of the Touchstone Energy Cooperatives Bowl.
