Red Bank concert succeeds

The May 3 Christmas At Red Bank spring fundraiser concert for Mission Lexington was a success.

It drew thousands of views to the Facebook Live event and resulted in a significant uptick in online giving.

This spring version of the popular Christmas show featured some of the same local musicians who have played over the last 14 years doing their own original songs.

Mark those calendar for the 2020 Christmas at Red Bank concert Sunday, Dec. 6.

With restrictions lifted on restaurants, some readers may be glad to have more options than just sitting at the kitchen table. San Jose in Red Bank was already taking advantage of outdoor dining last week. Highway 55 is open with extra space inside to keep diners safe. Glad to see that the takeout and curbside pickup kept most of our eateries afloat. Welcome back to the new reality of reduced capacity.

White Knoll High plans a graduation ceremony at 8 am Friday, May 29, at the football stadium, limiting in person tickets to 2 per graduate. They’ll stream the commencement online for those who cannot attend and provide DVDs to each graduate. It won’t be the same without grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins, but I’m glad the district found a way to hold an inperson event.

Happy birthday to Daniel Long, Dawnte Robinson, Kyle Drennon, Robert Pace, Emily Pace, Cathy Kyzer, Madison Schumacher, Butch Powell, Al Chalmers, and Michael Kinzie. And happy anniversary this week to Keith and Lisa Busbee.
