Rescue Church invites you to program

The Rescue Church in Pelion is having “An Event for Everyone.” All Pelion residents and those in surrounding communities are invited to this Christmas program December 22 at 11 am in the Pelion High School Theatre. Use the Highway 178 entrance. Fellowship and refreshments will follow.

The Pelion Women’s Club will hold the annual tree lighting December 13 at 6:30 pm at the Community Center. Gift distribution for the Children’s Christmas Tree will be December 20, 6-8 pm, at the Community Center. Children’s Christmas trees are at the IGA, the Pelion Library, Diedre’s, Crazy Dogz, and Hawthorne’s Pharmacy. Instructions for the tees are on the boxes where the portion of the tag is dropped. Gifts are due back December 14. Everyone is invited to pick a name from a tree and purchase gifts for the children.

A reminder that the Christmas Parade will be December 14 at 3:30 pm.

Pelion Library hosts Technology Training December 18 at 10:30 am for ages 18 and up. Registration is required. Preschool Story time will be December 18 at 11 am for ages 1-5 years. Porkchop Productions will present Holly and the Christmas Gift December 14 at 10:30 am. It’s the day after Christmas in Santa’s workshop and Holly the Elf finds a package marked undeliverable. Holly sets out to find the mysterious Bahum Bugg and discover why he doesn’t want Christmas coming to his door. This original tale about the virtues of giving and celebrating the differences in others. This event is for grades K-5.

North of 50 meets December 17 at 11:15 for ages 60 and up. Books and Beyond meets December 17 at 3 pm for grades K-5. Participants will enjoy cookies, hot cocoa, and create Christmas crafts.

C. Hope Clark will join the Spine Crackers Book Club December 18 at 3 pm to discuss Newberry Sin, her latest installment of the Carolina Slade Mysteries.

Family Movie Night will be December 19 at 6 pm. Children under six must be accompanied by an adult.
