FRIDAY, SEPT. 20

Saluda Shoals Jazz Series (concert)
Saluda Shoals Park (5605 Bush River Rd.) continues their Saluda Shoals Jazz concert series with a performance from Les Flat Out Strangers, a hot vocal gypsy swing jazz band that plays music from the 1920s-40s. The show runs from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the show. Visit icrc.net for more information.

If You Only Knew… (play)
The Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St.) invites you to a production of the play, “If They Only Knew…Why I Struggle To Trust God.” In this spiritually searching play, we follow the journeys of Nikki, Taylor and Wendy as they navigate the complexities of faith, trust and personal struggles, while questioning their own trust in God. The King James Boys (concert)
Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St.) celebrates another Friday night with a performance by The King James Boys. Real Men Wear Pink ACS Benefit
Wings N’ Ale of Lexington (154 Ellis Ave.) hosts a fun event for a good cause with the Real Men Wear Pink ACS Benefit. This fun fundraiser to help fight breast cancer features live music from the popular Fringe Benefits variety band, and a raffle to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s fight against breast cancer. Corn Maze
Clinton Sease Farm (382 Olde Farm Rd.) invites you and the kids to run through their corn maze. In addition to having fun finding your way out of the maze, your admission price also includes all playground activities, an obstacle course, unlimited wagon rides and a spin through the pumpkin patch. Colonial Forts Tour
12,000 Year History Park (112o Ft. Congaree Tr.) invites you to a gentle afternoon walk that’s also a history guide with their Colonial Forts tour. Meet in front of the Cayce Tennis Center to begin a two-hour nature walk and learn about the struggles of the Deerskin Economy, then travel forward in time to Fort Congaree and Fort Granby. Movies In The Park
Doko Meadows Park (171 Langford Rd.) continues their “Movies In The Park” series with a screening of the classic 1980s adventure/comedy, "The Goonies." Jeff Pitts (concert)

Pan American Kayak Fishing Championship
Scenic Lake Murray hosts the Pan American Kayak Fishing Championship. This esteemed event sees elite kayak anglers from across the Americas competing for Pan Am medals on a lake renowned not only for its amazing bass fishing but also for the nonstop action of striper fishing. Kim Scott (concert)

Instead of a Vegas big band or a tight rock & roll combo, the ColaJazz ensemble will jazz up classics like “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Love Me Tender” and many more. This performance features ColaJazz Foundation founder, trumpeter and bandleader Mark Rapp alongside Chris Reed, Brandon Stevens and Rod Foster & Company. Bierkeller Columbia (600 Canalside, Ste. 1009) kicks off their series of Oktoberfest celebrations on Friday, Sept. 20. The Columbia Museum of Art (1515 S. Main St.) invites you to a session of gentle morning yoga at Boyd Plaza on Wednesday, Sept. 25.  Mats and props provided, but guests are welcome to bring their own. This session is appropriate for all skill levels and is taught by Elizabeth Houck-Zozaya, who both practices and teaches curious, compassionate and accessible yoga. This event is free to attend and runs from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., but registration is required at columbiamuseum.org.
