SWIMMING Class 5A schools compete for titles

Chapin edged out Lexington for 6th place at the S.C. High School League Class 5A swim championships held this past Monday at the USC Natatorium.

The Wildcats finished 7th and had a 3rd place team finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Lexington’s J.J. Hardy placed 2nd in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle.

In the girls’ division, Katie Horan of River Bluff finished 3rd in the 100 yard butterfly and Chapin’s Anna O’Shaughnessey was 3rd in the 500-yard freestyle.
