Lexington County deputies are questioning a suspect in a shooting death Saturday.

Deputies said the unidentifed man showed up and provided details of the events that led up to the shooting.

No arrests have been made yet but the sherrif’s office has not said why.

Direko C. Thomas, 19, was killed in the shooting Saturday afternoon in the 100 block of Miranda Drive

Sheriff’s deputies learned that the suspect fled in a black Nissan Maxima.

Sheriff Jay Koon said. “We don’t have much else to go on at this point.”

Koon said detectives will continue interviewing neighbors who live near the shooting scene.

Crime scene investigators processed the scene and collected potential evidence. They also processed the car after it was towed.

“Those interviews will likely be helpful to us,” Koon said. “We’ll also be following up on any leads we generate based on tips that come in.”

Anyone with information on the shooting can share tips anonymously with Crimestoppers by calling 888-274-6372 or the Crimestoppers mobile app.
