They are thankful on this holiday

Wayne and I want to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. There is no better time to look back and reflect, give thanks and tbe grateful for the things we have.

Recently we talked with some folks in the community and asked them what they are thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Stella Hendrick  said she is so thankful for her family, friends and good health. She said she is planning to be with her grandson, Jesse Bickley and her family this Thanksgiving.

Jane Goodwin is thankful for our veterans and freedom. She is celebrating Thanksgiving with her brother Barry Broome. He will be coming to her home for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Meloney Gilpatrick Wesolowski is thankful that her son will be graduating from high school next year. She is thankful for her friends at the Gilbert-Summit Senior Center and her family.

Connie Jordan said her family is coming to her home. Her twin daughters Krystle Hallman and Kristie Harrell will bring Thanksgiving dinner. She is also thankful for her good health and friends.

Edna Keenan is thankful and looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson. Edna says she is making the special sausage dressing her family loves for their Thanksgiving dinner.

Gene Keenan says he is thankful for his wife Edna Keenan and his friends at the GSSC.

Martha Jones is excited and thankful that her great-granddaughter will be born near or on Thanksgiving Day. She said her name will be Elaine Rae. Her family will be with her on Thanksgiving. she said and everyone will bring a covered dish.

Christine Smith said she will have her family with her on Thanksgiving. She said her daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Jeff Colter, will come in from Charlotte. Christine is excited her granddaughter Marissa Colter will be celebrating her 7th birthday with her.

Mary Hiott said she will celebrate Thanksgiving dinner at her church. She said her church has an annual Thanksgiving dinner for people in the community.

Letha Long is thankful for her family and her health. She says she plans to spend Thanksgiving this year at her home.

Delores Dunbar  will bake a ham for Thanksgiving and her children, Keith Dunbar, Crystal Main and Missy Boone will bring covered dishes for everyone to enjoy.

The Gilbert-Summit Branch Library has a good selection of Thanksgiving-themed books for children that are on display at the front entrance.
