The S.C. Baseball Coaches Association listed 4 of the 5 teams in its preseason Class 5A Top 10 from Chronicle Country-dominated Region 5-5A.

White Knoll was the lone team missing from the rankings.

This past weekend, the Timberwolves served notice by winning the 12th annual Red Bank Invitational in dominating fashion. The 12-3 victory over Brookland-Cayce in the final capped a 4-game stretch in which they outscored the opposition 49-9.

It was the 4th RBI title for White Knoll, which previously won in 2009, 2016 and 2017.

Levi Dunn pitched 4 2/3 innings for White knoll to pick up the win. White Knoll had 8 hits, 3 each from Reign Lybrand, who had 2 RBI, and Dylan Johnson, and capitalized off 6 Bearcat errors.

Brookland-Cayce started 8th grade pitcher B.J. Etherridge. He gave up 5 runs in 3 2/3 innings as the Timberwolves scored in all 7 innings, posting 3 in both the 6th and 7th innings. Micah Stevens accounted for the lone RBI for the Bearcats.

White Knoll had a 3-game stretch starting Tuesday which included a home-at-home against Irmo and a road game at Westwood. Brookland-Cayce opened Region 5-4A play Tuesday at home against North Augusta, followed by a non-region game Wednesday against Ben Lippen.
