73 Lexington County schools were reported infected with covid-19 this week.
That’s 11 more schools this week than last.
In District 2, Wood Elementary will temporarily move to remote learning for 10 days that began Dec. 9 as positive case exceeded 10% of the students enrolled.
Other alarming numbers on the DHEC site this week were 19 students at Lexington High, 21 at White Knoll, 19 at River Bluff, 9 at Pelion High in District 1, 12 at Spring Hill High and 10 at Chapin High in District 5. 
33 District 1 schools in Lexington, Gilbert and Pelion were affected, 14 more than last week,.
District 2 in Cayce, Springdale and West Columbia reported 14 schools affected, 1 more than last week.
District 3 in Batesburg-Leesville reported 4 schools, the same as last week, and District 4 in Gaston and Swansea reported 6, the same as last week.
 District 5 in Chapin and Irmo reported 14 schools, 3 less than last week.
4 county private schools reported infections, 1 more than last week.
 In the state, 3,3267 student cases were reported, 629 more than last week, and 1,446 staff cases, 287 more than last week.
