To help troops plan their years after service, financial planning website WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia in 29 areas of retirement-friendliness toward veterans.
The data ranges from job opportunities for veterans to housing affordability to quality of VA hospitals.
Wallethub found us 10th best in the nation for military retirees.
The study found SC to be:
• 1st for veteran-owned businesses
• 6th in veterans per capita
• 8th for number of VA benefits-administration facilities per number of veterans
• 17th for homeless veterans
• 27th for housing affordability
• 28th for veteran job opportunities
