He died after being transported to an area hospital after the crash. The young man was riding the minibike on Williams Circle, near Courtney Drive, when it left the road, struck a mailbox, then collided with a tree.

The collision occurred at approximately 6:40 pm Tuesday. Master Trooper Daivid Jones of the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the boy was on a Kicker minibike traveling south on Williams Circle. The boy was wearing a helmet. The SCHP is investigating.
