2 Planter’s Station fires not suspicious

Posted

Lexington County Fire Service Chief Mark Davis and other LCFS staff met with a packed house during the Oak Grove Community’s local HOA meeting last week.

Fire officials were at the meeting to discuss the recent fires in their area, include 2 fires in the Planter’s Station subdivision that destroyed 2 homes in less than a 24-hour time frame.

According to Marty Hall, a Planter’s Station homeowner, Davis stressed that there is no link between the 2 fires that occurred May 28 in Planters Station. It appears both fires started on the exterior of the homes.

Davis also said that the fires do not seem to be suspicious at this time, but an investigation is continuing.

Hall said residents were also told that work orders have been submitted by the LCFS to Blue Granite (formerly Carolina Water Service) to add additional hydrants in the neighborhood.

Hall said Davis also gave out the business number for Lexington County Fire Services – 785-8145.

LCFS personnel will come to your home to inspect or install smoke alarms for free, Davis said.
