Halloween is happening this year despite the pandemic, though some festivities look a little different from years past.

Red Bank Baptist Church canceled its yearly Fall Festival while Red Bank United Methodist plans Trunk or Treat Saturday 4-6 pm as a drive-through event with plenty of candy for the kids and decorated trunks. Other events planned the 31st here next week.

THIS SUNDAY is the official grand reopening of the Dollar General on Platt Springs Road. The store underwent an extensive remodeling this month. Now they are ready to show it off. Stop in for special deals and to check out the new look which features additional food and home décor products and expansions of core categories.

WHILE HIGH school football gets the ma-jority of the fall sports attention, other sports could use our support. The Timberwolves football team hosts River Bluff at 7:30 Friday night in the Wolf Den. At 8 am Saturday the White Knoll Cross Country team competes in the CiCi’s Classic at the Sandhills Research Park on Clemson Road in Columbia. Visit whiteknollathletics.com for information on White Knoll sports events coming up.
