Absentee Voting in Lexington County is now open. Election day is Nov. 5, for several municipalities, including West Columbia and Springdale. It’s less than a week out.

If you are not going to be able to vote on November 5, contact the Lexington County Election Commission to obtain your absentee ballot today. There are three ways to vote absentee: Call: 803-785-8361; Email: vote.lexington@elections.sc.gov; or visit in person: Auxiliary Administration Building (old Kroger Building) 605 West Main Street in Lexington.

Although there was rain early on Sunday, the sun came out for the annual Gervais Street Bridge Dinner. The weather was perfect.

The Gervais Street Bridge Dinner is an annual seated sunset Sunday supper on the Columbia region’s most iconic landmark, featuring live music, vibrant artists, and a three-course dinner with cocktails, beer, and wine.

The last concert of the Rhythm on the River Fall series was Friday, featuring: Truckstop Preachers and Dirty Gone Dolas.

The Rhythm on the River concert series is presented in the fall and spring by the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce, City of West Columbia and House of Raeford. Concerts are free.
