Easter Sunday was different but many local houses of worship offerred services online with features to keep things as close to normal as they can be In lieu of an inperson choir to offer a new Easter cantata, Red Bank United Methodist ran footage of a previous Easter cantata from 2017 after Rev. Dunn gave a live Easter morning message.

The Waffle House on Platt Springs Road is one of the few left still offering 24 hour service for pickup. They are also selling dry goods groceries, farm fresh eggs, frozen biscuits, ketchup and bagged coffee.

LEXINGTON DISTRICT ONE is still running their feeding program using district school buses to deliver meals to children. This week it shifted to a 2 days a week with deliveries of lunch and breakfast. This is for children 18 years old and younger, whether they are District 1 students or not. See Lexdistrict1.com for details on drop-off points.

A word about social reducing the levels of cases across the country. The local “essential businesses” still open such as grocery stores are doing all they can to enable distancing but in my travels I don’t see as much adherence to the guidelines as there should be. Please, take it seriously and keep your distance.
