This Saturday, November 3, Red Bank United Methodist will hold its annual Harvest Fest fall festival. The yard sale part of the festival returns this year, beginning at 8 am; a vendor fair, country store and BBQ sale follow at 10 am, along with games, bounce houses, family fun, and more. Harvest Fest goes until 2 pm. Proceeds go to the ministries of Red Bank UMC. Contact the church for more information, 359-4031.

If you’ve noticed the sign at the church property across from White Knoll High School, it has changed a couple of times this fall. The church is no longer a campus location for Redemption. The sign has now reverted back to the original “Life Springs Worship Center” name. No word on exactly when it will reopen.

A big “Welcome to Red Bank” greeting for the new Publix grocery store on Platt Springs Road, which officially opened this week. Publix is well known for its great sales, a wonderful bakery and deli section, and fresh produce. It’s always good to have another option for grocery shopping, and with Publix and the recent Aldi addition, Red Bank is full of them now.

I know that Halloween just ended, but it’s time to start thinking about holiday events around the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas dates. If your organization, church, or business has something festive happening in the Red Bank area, let me know and I’ll pass it along here.

Happy birthday this week to Margaret Boggess, Marty Sox, Bella Huffines, Andre Huffines, John D. Anderson, and Ryan Southworth.

Happy anniversary this week to the following couples: Terry and Elaine Taylor, Doug and Nancy Huffines, Gerry and Jean Scheppmann, Garry and Paula Ash, and Gavin and Jennifer Huffines.
