Do you have a desk job, work from home or play games on your computer? Using computers may be required for your work, but do you realize how much time you spend on them? We rarely realize how much screen time we actually endure. Spending too much time on a computer or any electronics can be harmful. It can cause physiological, social and health problems. You can develop: - Disconnection with family and friends. - Feelings of narcissism, isolation and depression. - Memory, language, thinking, judgment, vision and hearing loss. - Neck and spinal problems from sitting improperly. While all of this can be damaging, it may be a necessity to use such devices for long periods of time. Make sure for every 15 minutes that you spend of screen time, to look away for 15-20 seconds at something at least 20 feet away. That means taking a vision and mental break. If you begin to develop these symptoms, think about ways to decrease your screen time and speak with a family member, friend or your doctor for advice.
Next week: Depression is real
