AROUND CAYCE, SPRINGDALE & WEST COLUMBIA

Atradition that is nearly half-a-century old was continued last Saturday. The United Methodist Men of Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church held its 49th annual Bar-B-Que. The United Methodist Women conducted a bake sale, too.

Pork, chicken and ribs were all included, said ID Hook, who has overseen the Bar-B-Que for years. They were sold by the plate with rice, hash and green beans, or by the pound. The bake sale included cakes, pies, cookies and brownies.

Hook said the proceeds from the BBQ will go to outreach missions that will be conducted in the local community.

The State Street Art Crawl was held last Friday from 5 to 9 pm. The free event was hosted by State + Meeting. The next one is the Fall Back Festival on the First Friday in November.

Rob Shaw Gallery and Framing hosted Collections – A Multi Artist Show (with art by Lindsay Wiggins, Dylan Fouste, and Pascale Bilgis, amongst others).

Frame of Mind hosted Asheville artist Tarah Singh with music by Preach Jacobs.

State Street Trading and the Warehouse also hosted opening receptions.

Rhythm on the River took place at the Riverwalk Amphitheater with The Get Right Band and Jeff Lucero.
