Rhythm On The River: One Irish Rover (concert)
The West Columbia Riverwalk Park & Amphitheater (109 Alexander Rd.) invites you to the first concert in their Rhythm On The River concert series. Enjoy an evening of Van Morrison classics courtesy of One Irish Rover, grab a drink from the cash-only bar and dig in to dinner from the Haute Dog Lady food truck. Monster Mash Family Party
The Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission and Seven Oaks Park (200 Leisure Ln.) will throw a spooky but kid-friendly Monster Mash Family Party. Come dressed in your best costume and enjoy a night filled with dinner, dancing, trick-or-treating, a costume contest, games, a photo opportunity and a goodie bag. Willie Wells & BRMG (concert)
Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin Parlor (710 Meeting St.) throws their usual Friday night acoustic party with a set from West Columbia’s own Willie Wells & BRMG. SATURDAY, OCT. 12

Nature Discovery Walk
Ring in the cooler weather with a Nature Discovery Walk at Congaree National Park (100 National Park Rd.). Join a volunteer park naturalist for a guided hike on the park’s boardwalk trail to learn about the flora and fauna that call the park home! All participants must have a reservation in order to join the guided hike, which is limited to a maximum of 25 participants. This hike will last approximately two hours from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Visit nps.gov to register.

Ray Greene (concert)
Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St.) and singer/multi-instrumentalist Ray Greene invite to you “An Evening of Rhythm and Songs.” Green has performed with Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, the Isley Brothers and Rick James, and you can expect to hear him use all his skill on hits and classics by Maxwell, Sade and Michael McDonald, to Kem, Journey, Frankie Beverly & Maze and more. Corn Maze
Clinton Sease Farm (382 Olde Farm Rd.) invites you and the kids to run through their corn maze. In addition to having fun finding your way out of the maze, your admission price also includes all playground activities, an obstacle course, unlimited wagon rides and a spin through the pumpkin patch. Visit the farm between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. to enjoy but remember that ticket sales end one hour prior to closing. Admission is $16 online and $18 at the door for ages 3 through adult. Fall Festival
Corley Mill House & Gardens celebrates the season with their Fall Festival. This family-friendly event features dozens of local arts & crafts vendors, live entertainment, candy, prizes and more. MALEVO
The Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College Blvd.) welcomes MALEVO to their stage. Billed as “Argentina’s answer to Riverdance,”  MALEVO is an all-male dance group that emphasizes strength and agility while fusing elements of flamenco, tango and Irish stepdance. MONDAY, OCT. 14

Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone (screening)
The Gaston Branch Library (214 S. Main St.) invites you and the family to a screening of the beloved blockbuster Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone. Step into the world of Harry Potter during his first year at Hogwarts as he learns about magic, friendship and his dark past. THURSDAY, OCT. 17

The 39 Steps (play)
The Chapin Theatre Company (830 Columbia Ave.) takes on Alfred Hitchcock with “The 39 Steps.” This play, adapted by Patrick Barlow, mixes Mr. Hitchcock’s cloak-and-dagger masterpiece with a juicy spy novel and adds a dash of Monty Python silliness. The Root Doctors (concert)
The Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) welcomes one of S.C.’s most popular party bands, The Root Doctors, back to their stage. The group has been delighting crowds for over 20 years with their unique brand of entertainment, both with original material and covers of classic party anthems. This show is part of the Icehouse Live concert series, presented by the Lexington Medical Center. Showtime is 6:30 p.m. and admission is free. Visit icehouseamphitheater.com for more information.

Across the county line

The S.C. State Museum (310 Gervais St.) invites you to a spooky history lesson with their Dark History tour on Friday, Oct. 11. Discover the true story of Columbia’s catacombs, a series of mysterious tunnels that were built to hide anything from politicians to Confederate gold. Hear stories from Gullah Geechee folklore and learn about the path General Sherman took during his march through Columbia. The museum runs these tours from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and they are included with museum admission. Visit scmuseum.org for more information.

The Incarnation Lutheran Church (3005 Devine St.) throws a fall party with Oktoberfest Columbia on Friday, Oct. 11. Enjoy German beer, homemade German food and treats, relax in one of two authentic biergartens with extensive German & craft selections, take in live music from oompah bands and watch the kids play in the Kinderzone. Bring the kids to Colonial Life Arena (801 Lincoln St.) on Saturday, Oct. 12 for Paw Patrol! Live: Heroes Unite. “Calling all good citizens! The PAW Patrol is yelping for help as they face their greatest challenge yet. Mayor Humdinger has dognapped Robo Dog and cloned him, causing chaos all over the world. The Enoree River Winery (1650 Dusty Rd.) invites you to the 11th Annual Newberry Harvest Festival on Saturday, Oct. 12. Enjoy two live bands (Colton Beasley & The Mad Dogs and The Time Pirates), pick your pleasure from three food trucks and show with 30 local vendors. The winery will also debut their seasonal cranberry wine and make cranberry wine slushies. The Newberry Opera House (1201 McKibben St.) welcomes 15-time Grammy-award-winning bluegrass and country musician Ricky Skaggs to their stage on Sunday, Oct. 13.
