The Swansea High School Beta Club achieved the 2020 Grand Slam Service Award.
Each of its members “knocked service out of the park” by spending over 100 hours serving their school, community, and state.
They helped contribute to over 904,282 hours served by clubs across the nation this year.
Collectively, Betas also raised $18,343 for various organizations and charities.
The Swansea High School Beta Club was one of only 21 schools across the nation to achieve this status.
To accomplish the service hours, students hosted a fall festival for the community, created cards for veterans, designed baskets for senior citizens, participated in Operation Christmas Child, collected canned food, purchased gifts for children at the children’s hospital, and adopted needy families at Christmas. They also participated in several fundraisers.
