A new restaurant is to open this fall in Building One of the Brookland development in West Columbia

According to an announcement on the Brookland SC Facebook page, the Black Rooster restaurant and rooftop bar will be opened by Columbia chef and restaurateur Kristian Niemi.

A spokesperson for Estates and Co, the developers of Brookland, said construction on the inside of the restaurant is taking place.

The rooftop bar will overlook the Congaree River, Gervais Street Bridge and the Columbia skyline.

Brookland is a $40-million-plus project being constructed at the corner of State and Meeting streets. Residents began moving into the first building last month.
