Body found in Lake Murray

A body was recovered from Lake Murray early Tuesday afternoon after a boat was found adrift near the dam at Lake Murray.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identified the deceased as Timothy Steven Peele, 51, of Irmo.
Lexington County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the boat ramp on the Irmo side of the dam about 6:40 am after people reported seeing a boat adrift near the dock.
An investigation into the man’s identity and cause of death is ongoing.
