LIFTED: Boil water advisory issued for parts of West Columbia

THIS ADVISORY HAS BEEN LIFTED

After a water main broke, a boil water advisory has been issued for some parts of West Columbia.

The areas affected are all of Janna Court, Chadwood Circle, Berry Drive, Plum Court, Cherry Grove Drive, Appletree Lane, Orchard Hill Drive, Vineyard Court, Melon Drive, Kristen Court, Peach Blossom Court, 642 to 821 Laurel Road and 1001 Backman Road.

Residents in those areas who have cloudy or sediment-filled water or those who are experiencing a major decrease in water pressure should boil all water for at least one full minute before drinking it.

Any ice that was made without boiling water should also not be used for drinking purposes. Those who have sediment in their water should flush all the sediment out before boiling their water, according to the press release.

The boil water advisory is in effect until further notice.
