Brookland UMC aids needy

Brookland United Methodist held an all free clothing sale Friday, May 29.

Items included clothing, shoes, pocketbooks, blankets, hats and accessories free to people in need. Brookland United Methodist will accept donations to help the ministries of the church at 541 Meeting Street, West Columbia.

THE WAIT IS over.The West Columbia Riverwalk Park and Amphitheater, 109 Alexander Road, opened after flooding.

THE WEST COLUMBIA Fire Department, Engine 2, answered a 2-alarm Bi-Lo shopping center fire on St. Andrews Road, May 28, before 8:30 am. The West Columbia crew was assisting the Irmo Fire District.

After research findings that covid-19 does not spread easily on surfaces, the City of Cayce has opened all city parks and playground areas.

The parks were opened on May 23. The city asked users to please continue to practice healthy social distancing safety measures.

RECESS CONTINUES. IN accord with the SC Chief Justice’s directive March 16, Cayce Municipal Court is closed through June 30. All parties will be notified of new court dates at the address that is on file with the Municipal Court.
