Lexington County riders may be able to take the bus to Columbia next month.
A year-long trial service will be available Wednesday only starting sometime in December, according to a COMET spokesperson.
Round trip fares will be $4 to Lexington and $6 to Batesburg-Leesville.
Fares will be $2 for military and those 65 or older.
COMET, the bus line operating in Columbia, would make 1 round trip from Lexington and Batesburg-Leesville to Columbia.
The bus would stop at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia and make other stops enroute. The bus can accommodate 2 bikes and 4 wheelchairs.
The service is subsidized by Lexington County and the towns of Lexington and Batesburg-Leesville.
Route times have not yet been decided.
