There is an election in Cayce this year, but only the incumbents are running.

Cayce mayor, council members face no opposition

There is an election in Cayce this year, but only the incumbents are running.

The seat for mayor and 2 of Cayce’s 4 county council seats are up for re-election.

Cayce Mayor Elise Partin is running unopposed. She was first elected in a special election in 2008 then won reelection in 2010 and 2014.

Partin is an Adjunct Faculty in the School of Public Health of the University of South Carolina. She holds a Masters degree in Public Health. Partin is married and has two children.

Partin recently completed a term as president of the Lexington County Municipal Association. She serves on the Board of the Municipal Association of South Carolina, the Central Midlands Council of Government Planning Commission as Vice Chair as well as the Board of the Central Midlands Council of Government, the Joint Municipal Water and Sewer Commission of Lexington County, the Lexington County Development Corporation, and the River Alliance.

James “Skip” Jenkins is running for re-election to Cayce City Council, District Two. Jenkins is Cayce’s Mayor Pro Tempore. He was born in Cayce and has lived there his whole life. Jenkins has worked for 40 years at CMC Steel in Cayce as the plant’s supervising manager.

Phil Carter is running for re-election to Cayce City Council, District Four. He is an agent for ERA Wilder Realty. Carter is from Cayce and went to Airport High School and the University of South Carolina.
