Chambers create business safety pledge

Posted

Local Chambers of Commerce have created an incentive for businesses to safely re-open after the covid-19 shutdown.

Lexington Chamber President and CEO Otis Rawl, Columbia Chamber President Carl Blackstone and Lexington Mayor Steve MacDougall met May 27 to create a pledge to the public.

By signing the pledge, businesses promise to follow CDC and DHEC guidelines to:

• Promote social distancing

• Limit capacity in their building

• Monitor the health of their employees

• Clean frequently

• Encourage face covering and hand sanitizing

Businesses can sign the pledge online a www.lexingtonsc.org or by visiting the chamber offices.

Businesses do not have to be members of either Chamber of Commerce.

Once a business signs the pledge, they are eligible to display a poster in their window. The posters were created, printed and donated to the Chambers by Lou and Bill Kennedy of Nephron Pharmaceuticals.
