Christmas already is in full swing with last week’s festivities and shopping marking the start of the season. But for local music fans, the real kickoff is the annual Christmas At Red Bank concert which happens-December 8 at Red Bank United Methodist Church.

The 14th annual concert benefits Mission Lexington and features over a dozen area musicians performing traditional and original Christmas music. Scheduled to appear at this year’s show is Brian Conner, Prettier Than Matt, James Etheridge Jr., Todd Mathis, Admiral Radio, Band of Pilgrims, Jeremy Scott, Matt and Becky Goudelock, Tom Coolidge, Buck and Rhonda Mooneyhan, Sofia Lynch, Stevie Harris, Ashleigh Morse, and Common Thread.

The concert is free, but an offering will be received for Mission Lexington. If you can’t make it to the show, there will be a live stream available on the church website. The concert begins at 6:30 pm. Contact the church, 359-4031, for more information.

Congratulations to the two school administrators in Red Bank recently given statewide awards. Leah Sarantopoulos, assistant principal at Carolina Springs Middle School, is the 2020 SC Middle Level Assistant Principal of the Year, and Julie Painter, assistant principal at White Knoll High School, is the 2020 SC Secondary Assistant Principal of the Year.
