A trio of Chronicle Country wrestlers left the Anderson Entertainment and Sports Center this past weekend with S.C. High School League gold medals.

Both Jacob Osmanski of Pelion and Justin Hayes of Irmo won their 160-pound weight classes in 2A and 4A, respectively. Osmanski was just the second Panther in school history to win a state title in wrestling, while it was the second straight for Hayes, who won at 152 pounds last year.

In Class 5A, Chapin’s Patrick Brophy was crowned champion at 195 pounds to complete a 46-0 season. Both Brophy and Hayes will conclude their wrestling careers in Myrtle Beach in the North/South S.C Wrestling Coaches Association All-Star Classic running Thursday through Saturday.

Brophy, Lexington’s Peyton Mathis and Eric Lopez and Cole Banks of White Knoll will wrestler for the South Classes 5A/A/2A team, while Hayes was selected to the North Classes 4A/3A team. Gilbert’s Harley Boatwright, Grayson Keisler and Jackson Caulder and Brookland-Cayce’s Terry Hilderbrand II are on the South Classes 4A/3A team.

113 pounds – Elijah Mayers (Gilbert – fourth place)

132 pounds – Blake Wise (Gilbert – second place)

145 pounds – Jonathan Brentlinger (Gilbert – fourth place)

152 pounds – Terry Hilderbrand II (Brookland-Cayce – second place)

170 pounds – Grayson Keisler (Gilbert – third place)

182 pounds – Jackson Caulder (Gilbert – second place)
