Churches set Thanksgiving services

Thanksgiving’s just around the corner, with several events and services happening locally. This Sunday, November 18, Lexington Church of God holds a 6 pm Thanksgiving Community Service. the church will hand out “Bags of Hope” to those in need as part of this event. knoll-wrestling-2018 , the team is about halfway to its $5,000 goal.

Congratulations to Red Bank area teachers named as Lexington District One Teachers of the Year: Carolina Springs Elementary 2nd grade teacher Andrew H. Luangxay, Carolina Springs Middle Digital Literacy teacher Monica Willis, Red Bank Elementary interventionist Jamee Childs, Saxe Gotha Elementary 3rd grade teacher Shamala Jennings Anderson, and White Knoll High School science teacher Deidre Pukl. A single teacher will be named to represent the District in the statewide process.

Happy birthday this week to Kristy Bouknight, Antony Maurer, Cindy Schmitt, Sarah Kyzer, Karen Folsom, Matt Snelgrove, Alannah Huffines, Aaron Gates, Jackie Barr, Mark Wooten, Britt Yarrington, Anthony Boatwright Jr., Bob Brittain, Tony Leaphart, George Jeffcoat, Layne Snelgrove, Edie Key, Connor Craigo, and Johnny Smith.

The annual Thanksgiving Eve Community Service held by St. James Lutheran, Red Bank Baptist, and Red Bank United Methodist churches will be Wednesday evening at St. James Lutheran on South Lake Drive at 7 pm, with light refreshments and fellowship following the service.

White Knoll High School’s Timberwolves wrestling team is holding a fundraiser to help pay for individual and team equipment, tournament fees and gear.
