Congress needs to aid this conservation fund

I know most South Carolinians are like me and care about conserving our natural resources in the state and the nation. I hope Congress will authorize full funding of the Land and Water Conservation Fund, a bedrock of conservation. The program has always been supported by both political parties and has been effective at providing local and state parks and recreation facilities, wildlife areas, boat ramps, and green spaces. All 46 counties in South Carolina have benefitted from the program. Family farms and forests in our fast-growing state are being gobbled up for development. Now is the time to set aside land for outdoor recreation and open space and to provide facilities for ball games, walking, biking, fishing, hunting, wildlife watching, and other pursuits. Citizens of all ages enjoy spending time in the outdoors. I encourage you to contact your US senators and representatives to fully fund LWCF now.
