Coroner: 3 people die in separate crashes in Leesville

A 22-year-old Leesville man died Monday night in a single vehicle crash.

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher said the crash happen in the 800 block of Rock N Creek Road, Leesville, at approximately 9:20 pm May 31.

William Rikard Swygert, 22, of Leesville was pronounced dead at an area hospital due to his injuries, according to Fisher.

Swygert’s vehicle left the right side of the roadway and overturned. Swygert was not wearing a seat belt at the time.

A Leesville man died late Friday night, May 28 in a single-vehicle crash.

Nicholus Maurice Brown, 44, of Leesville, was pro nounced dead at the scene according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher.

He died in a single-vehicle accident in the 700 block of Brodie Road in Leesville at approximately 11:05 pm.

According to Fisher, Brown was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.

Brown, who was not wearing a seat belt, was traveling northbound when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway and overturned, according to Fisher.

Fisher has identified the individual who died as a result of a single vehicle accident that occurred in the 400 block of Dixired Road in Leesville at approximately 11:55 pm on May 26.

According to Fisher, Damon Watts Jaynes, 27, of Leesville was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. The vehicle driven by Jaynes left the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned. Jaynes was not wearing a seat belt when the incident occurred. A passenger in the vehicle, who was also not wearing a seat belt, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The incidents are under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
