SC senators approved $10 billion for State Law Enforcement Division operations including hiring a forensic auditor to help determine if public money is being stolen or abused.

SLED investigations resulted in the arrests and resignations of high-placed officials such as Sen. John Courson and former House leader Rick Quinn who rep resented Lexington County.

SLED Chief Mark Keel had asked lawmakers earlier this year for $159,000 to hire a forensic auditor.
