County ranks in top 5 for business

Lexington County is one of the best in the state for business, a recent study shows.

The investment website SmartAsset ranked Lexington County 5th best for Gross Domestic Product growth in SC.

Lexington County had 2.3% business growth with $829 million in GDP growth. That’s well above the state average of -0.3% business growth and $298 million GDP growth.

The top 4 counties for GDP growth were:

1. Charleston - $1.7 billion

2. Greenville - $1.67 billion

3. Richland - $1.16 billion

4. Horry - $1.13 billion

Our county ranked top 10

in the state for incoming investment, new building permits and federal funding.
