Students in 2 Lexington school districts will start earlier than others.
All classes in:
• Lexington 2 in the Cayce-West Columbia area and Lexington 3 in Batesburg-Leesville will start Monday, August 19.
• Lexington 1 in the Lexington, Gilbert and Pelion area and Lexington 4 in Gaston and Swansea start Tuesday, August 20.
• Classes in Lexington-Richland 5 in Chapin, Dutch Fork and Irmo start Wednesday, August 21.
Schools by law must schedule 190 days of classes to allow for emergency makeup days.
Check your district’s online calendar or call your district office for the year’s holiday classes, makeup days and events.
Parents or guardians of children 4 years old on or before Sept. 1 may apply to have their child screened for 4-year-old kindergarten. Check your district for dates.
The Chronicle has been unable to learn when Gray Collegiate and East Point Academy in West Columbia, Northside Christian Academy in Lexington and Wyman King Academy near Bates-burg plan to start classes.
